For a while now a majority of the Ram 2500 lineup has had up to 31 colors available. I have probably seen 20 of them ever (and only 13 of which are uniquely distingushable at a glance).
I’m ready for fashion to trend towards being colorful AND premium. We always had “colorful and fun,” or “mineral and premium” pairings. Have you ever looked at the colors people wear around you? Dreary and faux-upscale is what we want and how we live. Drab and in debt but looking like a million bucks.
Are we lacking substance or sustenance? I can’t say, but I blame it on confusing shine for vibrance. We are all like the metallic crayons, brilliant but lack luster.
I’m not saying we need to go neon because neon fades (look at the late 80s/early 90s or neon). I think rayon is where we are heading. Depth, shine, vibrant, and defined. This will be the 2020s and I’m thankful for it.

Pastel is how I’d describe the general atmosphere of everyone’s interactions, believing they are light and playful when really they are duller than a spoon for a bread knife.

I love the fact that a lot of cheaper cars at least try and come with interesting, cheery, bright colors.....the FIAT 500 or the Mitsubishi Mirage, for example. People may think it’s gaudy, but I would gladly drive around in a golden yellow car than some dreary shade of gray.
1. The color alone will put a smile on somebody’s face somewhere at last once a day (who doesn’t smile at a bright orange Dodge RAM for one reason or another?)
2. Visibility. You’re going to see me coming in a lime green Mirage far more easily than one that is white.

Her husband has this as well-
He had an XLR until he traded it in on a Challenger too. When you live in the middle fo nowhere Virginia toys are not hard to get.

Meanwhile at Toyota...
We won’t even give you bright colors on our cheap little car like everyone else does, because we hate fun.

Bright colours mean maybe not being able to resell.
Ah what am I saying. I want more color.

Okay, I’m kind of old, and my brain is kind of dried out, but what are you asking for? In my experience,
gib
means
guy in back
, as in, the mechanic who aids tirelessly in the restoration of a warplane and gets to take a ride once in a while. And
pls
, of course, means
please
, usually...

The saddest car of them all is the Toyota Rush, when it was launched you could get it in Green, Yellow, Purple, Red, Blue, Beige or Black.
After a while though, White or Silver are your only choices, damn you Toyota !

I hate the drab coloring on vehicles today. Mazda gives you shit for choice and I love FCA for trying. That goddamn purple tho.

I ride the train into NYC every day. I own a bright red jacket because screw everyone else I love the damn color.
I often find that the train and subsequent stations are full of Black Canada Goose jackets and black/graphite/charcoal wool coats.
Then there’s me.
It also keeps me from wanting to piss anyone off, They’ll spot me too easily.
As the joke goes, “New Yorkers wear black only because they can’t find anything darker.”

Meanwhile at Toyota Japan. I wish western markets weren’t so afraid of different colors.

To be perfectly fair, they have offered the Prius C in a handful of bright colors over the past few years. The funny thing is, though, as much as the market leans towards 200 different iterations of silver, a lot of small entry-level cars offer some sort of obnoxious color choice. Hyundai has those neon puke green accents, Ford has a fuchsia Fiesta, Chevy has a signal green Sonics and purple Sparks, Mitsubishi has that pink/purple Mirage, Fiat 500's come in every color under the sun, there was that neon yellow Dart for a year or two and even Honda has a yellow Fit. Yet meanwhile the most adventurous Yaris is blue.
